About
Mobile Ticketing refers to a ticket which is downloaded to an application on your mobile phone using SMS and WAP.
Self Print refers to a paper ticket which you print yourself at home.
These tickets are offered on a strictly quota controlled basis and can be purchased up until the day before travel, subject to availability. For simplicity, each fare is based on a one way journey.
We may modify the terms and conditions relating to Mobile and Self Print ticketing at any time by posting revised terms on this site. You agree to accept these terms and conditions, as well as the general terms and conditions relating to the National Express East Coast website.
Conditions of Use
Mobile Ticketing
The word "mobile phone" used within these terms relates to any mobile phone, PDA or Blackberry type device that is able to receive text messages and use WAP. By accepting these terms you confirm that you have a suitable mobile phone on which you can receive and display these Mobile tickets.
The safekeeping of the Mobile ticket is your responsibility. In the event that the ticket or your mobile phone is lost, damaged or stolen, we will be unable to provide a duplicate or replacement ticket and a new one will have to be purchased.
Your Mobile ticket should be displayed clearly on the mobile phone screen when asked from by the Train Guard or ticket inspector. If the Mobile ticket has been damaged or is illegible in any way, the ticket becomes invalid and a new one must be purchased.
By purchasing a Mobile ticket you agree to cooperate fully with the Train Guard or ticket inspector and hand over your mobile phone for inspection if asked to do so. It is your responsibility to ensure that the mobile phone is sufficiently charged to display the ticket as many times as required for the duration of your journey (including at origin and destination stations).
Your Mobile ticket will be delivered to your registered mobile phone within 30 minutes of making the booking. If your ticket has not arrived after this time, please contact our Web Support team on 08457 225111.
Self Print
By accepting these terms you are confirming you have access to and can use a printer of suitable specification to print these tickets. You must ensure that each page of your Self Print ticket is printed clearly on a blank piece of A4 white paper, ensuring that you have a printed page for each named passenger.
If the Self Print ticket is printed incorrectly, damaged or illegible in any way, the ticket will not be valid and a new one will have to be purchased.
The credit or debit card used to purchase the ticket will be required as identification during the journey. If you are unable to supply this identification, your ticket will not be valid and a new one will have to be purchased.
